Usb Root Hub Message

i am doing some researching for my friend who has a laptop, model no
Toshiba Satelite A200 System Uni
Model No. PSAF0A-02L0K

He recently has purchased a wireless internet usb stick

when he connect this through the USB ports, he gets an USB Root Hub message and informs him that this product can work faster

We are unable to source what the problem is and rectify this issue as his internet is working very slow
