User Account Database sync failure HELP!

by s_robert67 . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

This might sound like a stupid question to some experianced network Administrators, but I am a new technology director for a k-12 school system and I’ve been having trouble with some NT Servers on my LANs. I brought over a spare drive loaded with NTServer and installed it on the system. The system is a BDC and when I started it up I changed the domain to match the building I was in. That seemed to work ok. I went into user manager for domains and it looked like the user list was copied. I went into Server manager and I could see all the servers in color (not faded), also, I can go into network neighborhood and access all files and folders on the network.

Here is my problem. I can’t logon with any other users except Administrator on the newly installed system even though I can see the users in user manager. I noticed an error about the BDC trying to talk to the PDC and getting a trust error and that I should reasablish the trust. I thought that trust relationships were for Domain to Domain. I need to get this server running since it’s our proxy server for the students to use the Internet. If anybody has any ideas I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
