Using Printer on Print Server

by sgandenberger . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

I have a printer attached to a Netgear Print Server on a Windows NT 4.0 SP6 network. I have been sucessful in printing to this printer from NT clients. Now I want to print from our SCO UNIX application to this printer. We are running SCO Open Server 5.0.2 with Advanced File and Print Server 3.5.1 loaded on the SCO machine. The UNIX server is connected to the NT network and we can print from UNIX to other printers connected to other print servers. when I try to set up this new printer on the print server in UNIX using the HP Network Printer Manager tool, like I did on the other print server printers, I get to the verify network printer operation part and receive this error:

Checking that ctsunix.UUCP.com is on printer’s access list …
/usr/lib/hpnp/cfg/canaccess PS593832

Printer access test failed. Add ctsunix.UUCP.com to printer’s access list.

Can anyone help me with is error or suggest another way to set up this printer for use with UNIX?
