VB & Oracle

I pursue a course in VB 6 & Oracle 8i, since i want to make my career in database programming field (Client Server). but my friends say that VB has lost its demand and there is no value in studying it.

Pls reply ur comments about studying VB & Oracle – whether it is worth r not.
