Virus Alerts

I hear about new e-mail viruses on the news while I am driving home in the evening. This involves heading back to the office and disabling internet mail until Symantec creates an updated virus patch for me to download and sweep to all local machines. Is there a website that posts all of the most current known viruses and the expected ETA on the patch? Might there be a more efficient method other than disabling internet mail for 24-48 hours?
