vlan or dvlan

i have a lan, in which there r abt 40 workstations. they r seperated into 3 groups. till now i havent implemented any vlan. sometimes there is information transfer between groups.suggest one solution so it would keep my network safe.i have thought abt dynamic vlans. i am not come to a conclusion.
