VPN concentrator doesnt allow ethernet

We are trying to install and configure our new cisco 3000 vpn concentrator at our location with no success. each time we connect it we can ping it and access the management system but no one can get in or out. The instructions for this hardware werevery poor with just a minimal quick configuration setup. do we have to put anything in our route table? Is it a necessity to have the dns domain name in there? we use fast.net’s dns server.
