W2K AD and E2K on Prolong Disconnected Network

by hasmadi . Updated 22 years, 4 months ago

I have a remote office with the followig setup:

1. One W2K DC (not a FSMO holder)
2. One E2K server

The remote office’s servers are part of the chid domain at the Head Office. The FSMO role holder for the child domain is at the Head Office (cannot be moved). In one month’s time, the remote office will be disconnected from the Head Office for a period of between 6 to 12 months, before it will be connected again to the Head Office.

My questions:

1. What will be the impact on the servers in the remote office when they are disconnected from the FSMO role holder in the Head Office for that long?
2. What if the impact if I modify the AD tombstonelifetime to 12 months?
3. What will be the impact on the users at the remote office?
