W2K browsing delays on NT4 domain

I’m slowly moving my network to Windows 2000. As a first step, and to buy some additional testing time, I’m moving all my workstations and laptops to Windows 2000 first. I have noticed one problem though, whenever I launc explorer and browse the network neigbourhood, there is an initial delay of 30+ seconds, after which everything works fine. Are there some incompatibilties btw NT4 and W2K?

Please help, Techrepublic is my best help, and I need it urgently.
