Recent reports indicate India is facing its worst water crisis, with the NITI Aayog stating that about 600 million people face high to extreme water stress and some cities may run out of groundwater by 2030. This is due to factors like poor water management, over-extraction of groundwater, contamination, population growth, and climate change, which have led to dwindling water availability. Reports also highlight a severe decline in per capita water availability, a high percentage of the population lacking access to safe drinking water, and significant economic impacts if the crisis continue. In this context, how can emerging technologies be made applicable to solve this issue?
