I am a trainee (intern?) in a 4000+ organisation in the UK. I have a Comp Sci degree and no Certs. From what I’ve done on me own and experience so far I feel up to a A+ and Network+. I need to do certs that make me employable here and elsewhere if I have to leave after my contract. E.g. CCNA or MCSE? A lot of IT is outsourced, so something that would help me get a position that can’t be outsourced. Also does anyone know good training centres in London, Manchester UK?
After Uni I was unemployed for two years. Partly my fault, because I lost interest in games. My project was games oriented using OpenGL and programming in C. I only hoped of getting a job with one particular big company, but they offered a position helping other big companies outsource their IT overseas! So I refused that. I’d probably be earning twice what I am now *sigh*… I’d never have the time to enjoy the money anyway.
So all my attempts in that 2 years were half-hearted I guess. I guess there’s still the “I don’t know what to do” factor. I do know that I don’t want to be in a job that involves back-stabbing or a lot of paper work or meetings. I hate meetings. 97.5% Meetings are not needed.
