I have several clients that refuse to use netbios. My company’s product requires a network share to be configured to access certain files. There seems to be a panic about using netbios growing in IT departments across the country.
I have not seen a good reason for Netbios not to be configured on a network.
I also have not heard of an alternative to netbios when accessing shared folders on a network.
Does your company “ban” Netbios? If so, why?
How do you access shared folders without netbios?
