What worked for me

Two things:
1. Certifications (yea whatever many ‘Gurus’ say, they help to make you stand out from the crowd)
2. A referral. I was referred to the employer by a person I worked for in a previous job. Although I did not have all the skills, he wasable to use my certifications, wide experience to present me in a manner that clinched the job.
