Where to find URL & domain statistics?

Does anyone know where to find statistics and analysis
about web addresses / domain names? I am looking
into changing our company’s URL, and I want some
data to back up why I am changing it, and to back up
which one I recommend. Specifically, I am interested in
things like:
– Whether how using dash in the URL affects hits
– Wheher having a long but intuitive URL is better than
having an acronym
– how having no “www” preceding the address affects
the site hits
– how having an extra “dot” in the URL affects the site
hits, etc etc.
