Which career direction should I take?

I’ve always worked in the periphery of computer networking and software but now I’ve decided to focus my career and want to know which area I should get a certificate or training in so that I will have the most value in todays market. I like networking and was considering getting an MCSE certificate. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
