White paper = advertising?

Are there any white papers not specifically tailored around the product they would like to sell? I wouldn’t mind a paper giving hints on problem solving, but mentioning “XYZ Software Solution” at the end of every paragraph is more than I’m willing to put up with. I can learn what I need from other sources without the product placement. Game over.
