I recently recieved a nice letter saying my achievments merit consideration for inclusion in the “Who’s Who of Information Technology”. I was flattered and interested to see why I was chosen. After some digging through many resume’s of those claiming inclusion in this ‘prestigous’ list I found in my results from a search some articles telling me to beware. It seems this company is a publisher and no is excluded from the list who enters. Who’s Who seems to be anyone who is willing to send them information and willing to buy the directory for nearly 800 bucks.
Anyone have this happen to them? The idea is nice but the motivation is money. I hope this helps other IT professionals, as I searched TechRepublic first.
Maybe TechRepublic can do a who’s who with some legitimacy.
