why is my Laptop logging on with a temporary profile?

At start up my HP Pavilion DV6 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium will on more frequent occasions now log on with a temporary profile allowing no access to my files and documents etc. after possibly one but most times two or more restarts we arrive at the correct log on, any ideas on a help or reason, possibly a update conflict or similar?
