I am currently a desk side support technician with network support responsibilities in a big Fortune 500 company. I am from the upstate New York area and I am an MCSE, MCP+I, and A+. The location I am going to is Dallas, Texas. I am trying to relocate within the company, but that doesn’t look like a possibility. I feel like I am at a crossroads deciding to continue on with network support or do something that I would love more, but adds risk to my financial life. I love the fields of computer gaming and writing, but most of those opportunities lie in the California region. How can I combine these interests into the ?perfect career??

Question 3: I am considering changing my way of life from networking to programming, but I lack the skills to do it professionally. I want to go for my masters degree in Computer Science, but I would like to a justification other than loving to be a life long learner.
Question 4: Is cold calling recommended? What would be the best strategy for going about this?
