Willingness to hire Canadian candidates?

by dana bensen . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I am curious in hearing from IT managers and others in a hiring position about how willing they are to hire candidates from outside of the country. Do you actually consider foreign candidates or do you steer clear from them altogether as it’s too much hassle?

I’m interested in US-based network engineering opportunities. I have Cisco’s CCDA and CCNA certifications and am currently working on the 2nd of 4 exams to get my CCNP and CCDP. I also am a MCSE, MCP+I and Novell CNE. I have3 good solid years of networking experience.

What I hope to find out by posting this message is whether or not a person with my particular skill set would warrant enough interest from potential employers that they would sponsor a person such as I for a US-based position.

Any insights would be appreciated. Please tell me a little about yourself so I know what your perspective is.

Thanks to all
