win 2000 LAN & network adapter

by liongsh . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Hi,

Installed a 3Com EtherLink III ISA (3C509b-Combo) on a window 2000 advance server, but encountered ‘Network cable unplugged’, the LAN fail. What is causing the problem, I supposed that Win 2000 will have the LAN connection on once detected a NIC installed no matter if there is cable setup or any protocol set.

Unable to uninstall the unknown device (previously caused by faulty NIC installed) under the network adapter device – error message as follow ‘Failed to uninstall the device. Thedevice may be required to boot up the computer.’ Why?

Will be deeply appreciate for any helps…

Best regards…
