Win 2K boots in color, but after logging

I just installed IE5.5, June 14th Security Update, & Media Player 7 on my W2K box using Windows Update. After logging back on after the reboot, the screen is Black & White. I Uninstalled all the new components and deleted the registry keys for IE5.5, and then re-installed IE5.0 to no avail. I also tried to repair 2K using the ERD, no go. Anyone else experienced this? HELP!
