win2000 pro worskstation/office xp pro

We’re triyng to install xppro sr1 sp2 on win2000 sp3 pro workstations. We encouter different problems :
-sometimes the PC stops and need rebooting for restart as pc is in a no response state.
-sometimes we ‘re enable to finish a setup operation
We are in a domain environment 2 DC one for data, one for exchange.
We had before office 2000 sr1 sp2 in the same organisation and never kwown all those new problems. OFf2000 has been desinstalled and we have applied the cleaner registry program supplied by Microsoft by downloading from ther site. All the installations are made by the network administrator. !

Does someone experiments the same problems
