Win2k can’t see the DNS -Sys Pol Issue?

I recently logged in to a new network at work and now my win2000 box does not see the DNS servers. I was running fine until this point. I didn’t change configurations at all but my home connections to my regular ISP no longer and resolve names. If this is a possible System Policy change where to I clear it and how do I prevent any system policy file from over writing my reg agin without my permission? Thanks
