WIN2K cert – a waste of time?

by lasharn . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I am wondering if any one feels that pursuing a certification in Win2K (MCSE)would be a waste of time since the next version of Windows is fastly approaching? I took classes part time for the NT4 track. Half way through, I found out that NT4 was retiring. I didn’t take any of the tests because money was extremely tight because I was paying for the classes myself, and I felt at the time, it would have been a waste of my effort and money since the new version was approaching. I now have a new position with a company that provides tuition reimbursement. I am trying to decide whether I should pursue the certification or complete my bachelors for CIS, especially considering that I would be going back to school part time after work which is going to take time to complete my training. I currently have an A+ and an Associates in CIS.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
