Win2K Pro User Application History pblm

by *peterg* . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

Using Win2K Pro, with 3 different profiles + administrator on each of 3 different computers, I need to capture the names (and, hopefully, the elapsed time of use) of each of the Applications (such as, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Quicken, TurboTax, etc.) that each of the users of the individual profiles has used since Jan 1, 2001. I have tried copying the folder entitled “Recent” for each profile but the copy acts like the original “Recent” folder and will not allow printing of the folder contents. Clicking on a specific file modifies the date/time info to the current date/time. How do I “disconnect” the copied “Recent” folders attributes from the original such that I can print (and generally massage) the copied file? I also have tried using Event Logs, System Logs, etc from Computer Manager but they seem to be pretty useless for capturing Application usage by profile/user. Outlook Journal will only capture Microsoft programs but not those of other vendors, as far as I can tell (I use several other vendors + DOS legacy programs). Any suggestions? Any other approaches to the problem? Thanks for whatever you can offer.
