I am having a problem with master domain accounts locking on w2k workstations within a couple of hours after changing the password. The password change always comes after the “prompt user to change password before expiration” at logon time. THERE ARE NO W2K DOMAIN CONTROLLERS. The problem is intermittent which makes it very hard to solve. The netlogon log on my PDC is showing a network logon from my workstation is passing a bad password (probably the old password) to the authenticating domain controller (I think this is from persistent drive mappings in my logon script). This occurs many times at about 3 second intervals. The account locks according to account policy – bad password attempts. This problem started when I upgraded fromNT4 to W2K. Can anyone help? Thanks!
