Windows 2000 WS

I recently installed win2000 on one of my computers and I’ve noticed that the hard drive is working too much. Even when the computer is idle for long perios of time I notice that the HD keeps chucking away like it’s doing some serious crunching. Ihave 512 ram and the comp is a PIII.

Any ideas what could be causing this to happen?
