Windows 95 & Installing a Phillips CDRW

Running Win95 and installing a Phillips CDRW 800 series caused a few Fatal Exception errors when booting. The machine will not boot to safe mode and when it does boot to “regular” mode as soon as you try to open either the CDrom or the CDRW a fatal exception error occurs. Can anyone help me?
