Windows can’t ping Unix

Both a Windows 2k and a Windows XP box can’t ping the Unix servers on our network. What’s interesting is that the Unix boxes can ping back to the Windows boxes, and while they are pinging, the Windows boxes can ping back, but only temporarily. Any ideas? Thanks
