Windows Freezes

Alright – so my friend asked me to fix his laptop, the problem is — windows boots up normally, and after 5-6 minutes it completely freezes and I have to restart by holding the power button..

So i reformatted his harddrive, and it still had the same problem

I put in a brand new harddrive and loaded windows xp sp3 on it, and it still has the same problem..

I was thinking it may be a heating problem
anyone? :O
