Hi,
I cannot install or remove any programs that use windows installer and get the following error message”the installation package could not be opened,verify that the package exists and that you can access it”,also I started to get windows installer starting every time I started my computer trying to install windows live mail and cancelling it did no good as it kept on coming back,I have partly sorted this by deleting the folder it was trying to access and now only comes up once on start up.
I have tried unregistering and reregeristing windows installer, no joy I have also checked I have the correct permisions to allow windows installer to work but again no joy,and have service pack three installed.
I am running XP pro media center edition,and would be greatful for any help on this subject.
