Windows NT fails to boot after C drive i

by rlbeaver . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

This may have been asked, but I couldn’t find it on the search…

I installed Windows NT with a 2GB FAT file system on C and an NTFS file system on D:. If I chose to do NTFS on C during installation, it would fail to boot on C with a missing kernel file error. I ran convert on the C drive to convert it to NTFS later and now it won’t boot with the missing kernel file.

I’ve tried running repair from recovery disk, original installation disk, and I did an fdisk /mbr.

Is there a way toget this to boot? Can Windows NT boot from an NTFS file system?
