I’ve recently started working with a large multi-domain NT4 network. I’ve noticed that the workstations in one of the domains seem to randomly disappear and reappear from Network Neighborhood. I can still map to the workstations even though they don’t appear in Network Neighborhood. I’ve been told that this is a known problem to Microsoft and they are planning on eliminating Network Neighborhood because of it. In addition, this problem is supposed to be addressed at the MS TechNet site but I haven’t been able to find anything about it. This sounds fishy to me as I’ve never had any problems with Network Neighborhood before and I suspect a browser problem may exists. Can anyone confirm or deny that Microsoft knows about this and is planning on eliminating network Neighborhood?
