Windows Re-Installation

Hi,
I have Windows 7 (ultimate) installed in my laptop and i want to re install it as some programs have stopped working and restoring to earlier point didn’t help, please instruct step by step process as how to reinstall windows 7 on my laptop without losing any data.
Note: I am note a computer specialist so a simple easy to understand instructions will be very much helpful.
