Windows Search Problems

I am managing a NetWare6 network with Windows 2k workstations. ALl of a sudden roughly 70% of the company cannot perform a Windows Search(start>seacrh>files and folders). When Files and Folders is selected, nothing happens. I am famuliar with Windows policies that Remove search capabilities however i am not famuliar with disabling that ability. I am able to perform a search via Windows Explorer.I have also searched the registry for the NoFind value and removed its only entry. I do not have TweakUI installed.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
