WIndows XP Default Administrator Problems

by silver surfer2 . Updated 17 years, 10 months ago

Running Windows XP Media Center Ver 2002, I have been using the default admin account exclusively on my PC for a couple of years now. As such, alll my email accounts, data files, music, videos, photos, etc are stored under that account. I recently decided to create an account of r my kids, but the system would not allow this, unless I created an admininstrator account, which I did. I then created the account for my kids.

Well as it turns out, now that I have this new admin account, I can’t get back into the default admin account that I had been using, and where all my data files are stored. I can see the administrator directory under the ‘c:/documents and settings’, but if I try to go into it, I get an error box saying ‘access denied’. I have even tried to access the file in the cmd propmt window, but I get the same error message ‘access denied’

THere must be a way to access the data and the account, but I have been unsuccessful in finding it. Can anyone help?
