Windows XP File Sharing Password prompt

Hi,

I have some difficulty on sharing file access.
I want to share folders on my network and I would like people to have to log in when trying to access a shared folder. I can’t get a dialog box to pop up and ask for a username and password, it just says access denied as the login account was not same as the security rights for the folder.
Is there a way to set the folder with a username and password login without following the users account. Meaning just give the person who want to login the username and
password to access the shared folder even though the person is in
other account name just like in Window 98 which we can set password in order to login even thought our account was not created in the security tab.
