Windows XP taking forever to load

Hi

My laptop is taking forever to load up (well 15 minutes plus). I’ve tried a number of scans including SpyBot S&D, MalwareBytes etc. The latter quarantined Malware.Packer.TGen1 and I subsequently deleted the file it was found in.

I also ran Combofix (which I understand I shouldn’t have without someone who knows what they are doing). It didn’t kill my laptop but the problem is not resolved. I’ve tried Seatools for Windows and both partitions passed the Long Fix All tests, so I don’t think it’s the HDD.

Currently running MS Windows Malicious Software Tool…

Feel like I’m not being very methodical and would really appreciate some help please. I’m running Windows XP.
