Winword.exe (office 2003) error when trying to print

When trying to print from word 2003 i get a winword.exe error and word closes and restarts. I have 5 machines all doing the same thing.

I have done the following trouble shooting:-
? reinstalled office
? renamed the normal.doc file
? removed the temp files
? updated the printer driver to universal print driver.
? The machines are totally up to date with windows updates and so is office.
? i have even wiped and reinstalled windows on 2 of the machines.

Any ideas would be a great help!
