Wireless Networking 802.11b

Anyone have any advice for someone trying to setup a wireless network in a house?

For some strange reason I’m not getting very strong signals through the house. Even in the same room as the DSL Wireless router the signal can vary.

FYI: I’m using a total Netgear wireless setup.
