Wireless printer setup

I have an HP Photosmart 3210xi printer that I would like to relocate so it would no longer be connected via USB to my PC. Can I use an old D-Link wireless router (DI-514) to connect this printer wirelessly to my Verizon FIOS wireless router (Actiontec MI-424)? I have setup the DI514 to use the same SSID and subnet as the gateway and given it an IP address outside the DHCP range. Do I also need to change the IP settings of the printer?
