Women in IT workplace

I have been taking training courses for the last 5 months, getting ready for my A+ and MCSE certifications. However, I have found there to be a “male supriority” feeling in each of the classes I am taking. In fact, it’s almost as if now I’m not doing this because it is something that interests me, but to prove that a female can in fact pass certifications AND know “her stuff” so to speak. What are your thoughts on this?
