Word 97 disk is full. Why?

I have a problem with an oversized Normal.dot (1.8 meg!) I was able to pare it down to 900 kb. I am having a problem however. This occurred When I installed system works 2000 by symantec. The real problem is that after working with the Normal.dot template and creating many letters, when I try to shut down Word97, it asks if I wish to save the changes made to my normal.dot. If I answer yes, it says my disk is full. (It is not!) ( I have already deselected “allow Fast Saves” . The only way out isto say no to the changes. Now I never had a problem when the normal.dot was 1.8 meg. The problem only occurred after installing system works 2000 of which only the virus scanner is memory resident.
