WordPerfect 2000

I ran into an unusual situation in that when I am in Wordperfect and select a file for a particular folder and open all is well. Not the problem is when I goto open another file in the same folder, I am returned to the root folder and not the folderthat I was in. All other programs I stay in the current folder until I change or shut the program down and restart the program then I am returned to the set default folder that I use.
