I am wondering, what is the worst outsource project management stories you have heard?
Here’s mine:
I am currently involved in an outsourced project for a customer that is a major organisation that looks like it’s going to break apart. The short story is, the sales people basically handed in the tender proposal without having once actually understanding the customer’s environment. From what I hear, they did not even step on the customer’s site once. They have committed to the customer’s SLA, and proposed a model of operation which looks like a carbon copy of another’s project’s.
It’s basically a case of coming up with the tool without seeing what the job is about.
