Okay. This is a blatant cry for sympathy from my imaginary friends…
Last Wednesday, I woke up in the middle of the night with a fever. I went to the urgent care the next day and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and a kidney infection. I was still running a fever on Friday, so I went to my regular doctor. She gave me a shot of antibiotic, a new prescription and told me to go to the er if I still had pain in my sides. I did. So, I went to the ER for a cat scan. It came back fine and I was infection free, but I still felt terrible. By Tuesday, I was bright red and swollen from head to toe, so back to the emergency room to deal with the allergic reaction I was having to the new antibiotic. They gave me Prednisone. Was back in the doctor’s office yesterday with severe back pain. She took me off the Prednisone and told me to call back if I had any more symptoms.
Well..NOW all my joints are swollen. I can’t use my left hand. I feel like I have broken glass in my wrists, knees, ankles and elbows. My face is swollen and I look like a pumpkin. She wants to give me something else to alleviate the fluid retention, but at this point, I’m afraid to take anything else. Except for the painkillers. The painkillers are my only friend at this point.
And I’m at work today. I can move my fingers to type, but am thinking that any code I write today might produce unpredictable results.
Instead, I think I’ll just try to look busy and feel sorry for myself until 5:00.
Oh, and I can’t wear makeup. I can’t grip the brushes. So, I have a swollen, makeupless face.
So..in order to get through this day, I need help. Tell me something funny. Tell me that you’ve gone through the same thing and got better in no time. Tell me that even though I have a pumpkin head, I still look amazingly hot..
