ws unable to browse remote server

We have a single Domain network spread out over 3 locations. The PDC is in the main location and two BDC’s in the other remote locations. From the PDC I can browse and connect to the remote BDC’s. However from my workstation which is in the same location as the pdc I cannot browse or connect(map a drive) to the remote bdc’s. I can ping the bdc’s by IP address but not by computer name. The PDC is also a wins server. How can this be explained?
