XP prfessional does not recognize corect CD size

I have a PIONEER K12RA cd dvd burner. I am unable to burn a 800MB CD. Neither XP nor any CD burning SW recognizes 800MB. It always tells me CD size is 702,83 MB. WHAT CAN I DO?
