Have a lab of computers in a school environment. All Win XP Pro connected Fast Ethernet 100Mbs to switch/hub. Novell Netware 6.0 servers are used for authentication, but not for printing. Set up an HP 2300 laser printer on two workstations and set them up to be shared with MS print shares. They just seem to randomly lose their sharing capability. Have to manually go back and setup up to print to the same shared printer works for awhile and then gets dropped again. Some see the icon for the machine, but the printer is not list when the “+” sign is selected. Sometimes on the same machine, I can run the Add Printer wizard and see the printer, sometimes not see the printer but can see the container it is in, other times nothing shows at all.???? Any help appreciated.
